Come work beside ABSF Staff cleaning and preparing the American Birkebeiner Trail system for Spring/Summertime Use!

After a heavy-snow season, ice-storms and high winds, the trail has been littered by many limbs, branches and fallen trees.  While much of the debris was cleared (or covered) from the trail for grooming purposes, there still remains many areas that have a lot of sticks and branches, as well as much that was on the ground that the snow covered.

Working from the Birkebeiner Trailhead in Cable to Hatchery Creek in Hayward, specific locations and times have been set (below) to provide the opportunity to help clean the entire trail system with friends and family.

Current duties include, but not limited to picking up sticks, and throwing them off the trail, raking, picking rocks, trail trimming, hauling brush.
Please note this is an outside activity. Please dress accordingly, and do not wear open-toed shoes, sandals or flip-slops. Bring a hat and work-gloves. Water is on-site, please provide your own vessel.

Great things are happening along the Birkie Trail, and we look forward to working with you!  Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about volunteering with the American Birkebeiner.
